Eligibility & Membership

Eligibility

This event is open to all participants that meet the age group requirements (see Divisions tab) and have the proper membership (see below).

All wrestlers in INDIANA must qualify through their state. Kids (14U and younger) from IOWA must compete in the Iowa USAW Kids State in order to be eligible for this event.

Master Division Athletes

USA Wrestling Medical Check for Master wrestling class C, D and E. 
All competitors in Masters Class C, D and E must present a letter of medical clearance (Form) at USA Wrestling National Events medical check to Weigh in that states the competitor is cleared to compete without any restriction. The  letter must state that the competitor has the cardiovascular to compete in an intense, vigorous competition per UWW Federation Regulations. The letter must be dated within 90 days of competition. The letter must clearly identify the MD or DO with location and contact information for MD or DO.

The 2019-2020 Membership Year begins September 1, 2019 and goes through August 31, 2020.

ATHLETE MEMBERSHIP

Wrestlers must enter their USA Wrestling Membership number when they register online. Wrestlers that do not have valid USA Wrestling Membership numbers will not be allowed to register.

WRESTLING LEADER MEMBERSHIP

All coaches that wish to gain access to the competition floor to coach athletes must have a current USA Wrestling Leader Membership Card. All USA Wrestling Leader Membership Cards MUST be attained prior to the event, due to mandatory background checking. For a USA Wrestling Leader Membership Card Card, please click HERE. PLEASE ALLOW UP TO 30 DAYS FOR COMPLETION OF USAW LEADER MEMBERSHIP/BACKGROUND CHECK PROCESS.

Coaches passes will be sold for $15.

Two certified coaches maximum allowed in each competitor`s corner. To videotape any match at mat side, the operator must be one of the two certified coaches in the corner.

Kids Coaches: Floor passes will only be issued to those individuals with a current USAW Leader Membership Card and are a minimum USAW NCEP Copper certified (photo I.D. required).

16U and Junior Coaches: Floor passes will only be issued to those individuals with a current USAW Leader Membership Card and are a minimum USAW NCEP Bronze certified (photo I.D. required).

Coaches must be prepared to show their current membership card, photo I.D., and Copper/Bronze card at registration in order to purchase a coaches pass.

Transgender Policy

USA Wrestling deems it necessary to ensure, insofar as possible, that transgender athletes are not excluded from the opportunity to participate in wrestling competitions. As such, USA Wrestling’s Gender Policy is based on the results and guidelines of the IOC actions.
