Rules & Bracketing


For all divisions, the current rules of UWW, with USA Wrestling modifications where applicable, will govern the event and the competition.

PLEASE NOTE: Wrestlers from the same club must use the same club name or abbreviation during registration in order to insure proper calculation of team points.

Match Length: Two, 3-minute periods with 30 seconds rest


·There will be a blind computer draw after the initial weigh-in. A standard, seeded, double-elimination line bracket, with consolation wrestle-backs to 3rd, 5th, and 7th place will be used.

·The selection and seeding committee will be determined by the Federation of Clubs, and will meet via conference call upon the close of registration on Tuesday, April 24
·The U.S. National Championships will be line bracket, double-elimination; wrestle back to 7th place.
·The selection and seeding committee, as established by the Federation of Clubs, will seed four (4) to eight (8) individuals in each weight category.
·The seeded athletes will be separated and placed into the appropriate bracketed slots. All other athletes will be randomly drawn into the remaining available slots. If there are any byes, they will be placed evenly and randomly in the brackets.
